Community space for Clapham Park scheme

A new community facility has opened as part of a £1.6bn regeneration of Clapham Park in Lambeth.

Clapham Park Cube was delivered by housing association Metropolitan Thames Valley (MVTH) and includes a number of facilities including a multi-use sports hall, IT suite and training kitchen.

The centre is located on the corner of Kings Avenue and Atkins Road, officially opened in August, and has a range of weekly activities including tai-chi, kickboxing, fitness sessions for women and boxing yoga.

There are also tutoring sessions and a study hub available that supports young people that are free to residents that live nearby. 

A one-bedroom shared ownership apartment at SO Resi Clapham Park is available for £110,500 for a 25% share (full price £442,000) and a 5% deposit of £5,252.

There are one and two-bedroom apartments at the development that have open-plan living spaces, natural oak flooring, fully-integrated kitchens and a shared courtyard.

The homes are close to Clapham High Street and Clapham South tube station, where travellers can get the Northern Line.

The regeneration of Clapham Park has included 500 new homes and 700 refurbished properties, and Metropolitan Thames Valley is providing a further 2,500 new homes of which 53% will be designated affordable.

The Clapham Park area will have new walking and cycle routes, and new parks, play areas, gardens and quiet spaces will be linked by a network of green avenues.

Future plans for Clapham Park include a new school, nursery, shops and community facilities.

SO Resi Brixton also has two and three-bedroom shared ownership apartments available with a private balcony or terrace, and benefits such as two years of free car club membership with Zipcar and £30 driving credit.

A two-bedroom apartment is available at £127,500 for a 25% share (full market value £510,000) and a 10% deposit of £12,750 is required.
